Day 13: Bird Watching at the State Park Next Door

One of the big draws to Bentsen Palm RV Park is Bird Watching at the State Park next door that is a "World Birding Center".  The State Park has many feeders set up as well as observation points to observe the birds and animals.  We are meeting hard-core bird watchers who carry notebooks and binoculars whenever they enter the Park, and know fine details about each type of bird.  We know Michigan Birds quite well but almost nothing about the birds seen around here.  Nevertheless, we took our camera in and got a few photos to share.
This is a Green Jay
The Green Jays are beautiful and very different than the Blue Jays we have up north.
This is the Hawk Tower.
In the spring and fall they say hundreds of hawks migrate through the sky here each day.  We saw two hawks from the tower.

This is a Great Kiskadee.  Bright yellow :  we only saw one.

This is a Chachalaca.  It is a large bird but a bit smaller than a Wild Turkey.
We thought they were Roadrunners at first - but they are larger and can fly short distances.
