The Lajitas Resort

The Lajitas Golf Resort is located between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park which is the largest state park in Texas.  In Texas that says a lot!  Many people stay at the resort so they can explore both parks.

However, its location puts it in the middle of "Nowhere" so avid golfers sometimes fly in to the small international airport to stay at the resort and play golf.  Before 9/11, we are told, a hole on the course used to play across the Rio Grande River.

This is what the Lajitas area looks like from a nearby hill.  Our RV park is in the distance in the middle of the picture.  The equestrian center is just below the hill.

Here is an old Lajitas cemetery.  It is still being used by the local families.

We like the Maverick Campground.  It is roomy and clean and has cable TV.
