The Baby Needs New Shoes

On Thursday, January 12, we checked out of Lajitas and headed north up to the town of Alpine, Texas.  Our travel trailer needed new tires so the people at Oasis Tire told us to bring the trailer back early Friday morning and leave it for the day.  We said we would.

On Thursday afternoon we checked into the Lost Alaskan RV Park.

We dropped off our trailer early Friday morning and went exploring around the town of  Alpine.

The downtown had many beautiful murals on the buildings.  The town is the site of Sul Ross State University, the home of the "Lobos".

Dan Blocker went to school here and played on the football team.  Some of us remember him as "Hoss" on the Bonanza TV show.  Kind of makes you wonder if he was a blocker on the football team as well?  Ha Ha.

Sul Ross University has a Museum of the Big Bend on campus so we had to check it out.

The museum was a great place to spend part of our day as Edgewater was "getting her new shoes", as Karen liked to say.  She also got her  wheel bearings repacked and was ready to go by 5:00 PM.
