We have mentioned that there was a Civil War Battle here as the Confederates tried unsuccessfully to take over Fort Pickens from the Union forces. Over the weekend, just around the corner from our campground, this group came in for an archaeology dig of the battlefield. They were a group from AMDA which stands for Advanced Metal Detecting for the Archaeologist and they had a permit to do the dig.
We saw this Osprey numerous times and it seemed to love this perch just behind our RV. A neighbor camper said he had seen it fly over with big fish in its talons. While it sat in this tree Bill saw its mate off in the distance on the nest.
