A Nature Walk into the Dunes

Along Lake Michigan, up where we come from, people are allowed to climb and explore the sand dunes pretty much as they desire on state property. (unless rules have recently changed) Not so in Florida.  Here we are constantly seeing signs warning people to stay off the dunes or they will be breaking a statewide law.

Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised to see that Henderson Beach actually had a nature trail through some of their dunes.  Tuesday was another warm day so we took the walk that took about 1/2 hour to complete.  It was hilly, sandy, educational, and fun.

Along the walk there was no mistaking where the state land ended and the private land began.

Today, Wednesday, is stormy so we are going shopping in Destin and maybe take in a movie.
