So Much for Silver Springs! - We Move On. Hey, what kind of dog is that?????

Our plan for Tuesday was to move into the Silver Springs State Park and check out the tourist spot with its glass bottom boats, etc.  However, when we arrived on Tuesday morning we were told there was only one site available for one day.  We decided to move on south toward Orlando to another State Park and ended up at Lake Griffin near Leesburg.

The park is small with only 40 campsites but they gave us one to squeeze into for three days.  It has a boat ramp and nice picnic area and is away from the busy highway.

What kind of dog is on that leash ?  Wait-- it is a cat out for a walk with its owner.  A big cat.

The lady was from Pennsylvania and said it was a Bengal Cat.  She explained that it is a mixture between an American Short Hair cat and an Asian Leopard.  (notice the spots on its back)

It was friendly and let Bill pet its head.  The lady said it could jump to the top of a full-size door.  It still had its claws to protect itself from campground dogs that found it to be offensive.  She said it took a long time to train it to wear the harness but it finally learned that that was the only way it got to go outside.
