Rain in Florida - Joy in Ohio

On Monday it rained hard for much of the day.  We could not go exploring on our bikes like we planned, so instead drove into Ocala to the AAA office for a few new maps.  We checked out the city and Karen bought some more supplies at a grocery chain called Publix.
We got more than three inches of rain but as you can tell from this Florida lake -- it is really needed down here.  Notice how far the houses and tree lines are now away from the water.
Some people down here have not yet got around to putting away their Christmas decorations.
 
Congratulations to the Ohio State Buckeyes!  They took care of Oregon and taught the World that the Big 10 is not a washed-up conference in football.

    Our friend, Mary, met a young man on our cruise who has worked for Publix since he was a freshman in high school. He started out as a bagger & is now the manager of the bakery dept. He told her he makes great money, gets multiple weeks of vacation, has wonderful health benefits & gets a huge Christmas bonus! Sounds like a great company to work for...
