Harry Gets Us Quite a Boat Ride!

On Tuesday we met our neighbor, Harry, and his two friends for a boat ride out of Holiday Travel report and across Lake Harris for a lunch at a dockside restaurant.
The park borders a channel that connects to a chain of lakes the biggest of which is Lake Harris.  Lake Harris is huge and 1/3 bigger than Higgins Lake in Michigan. Its area is more than 21 square miles and we are traveling across it to have lunch.  Above you can see some of the numerous boats on the channel inside the RV Resort.

Here is our boat and from left to right are Harry Olsen, Captain Bernie, first mate, Sue and Karen.

It was probably a twenty minute ride just to get out to the big lake.  Here are Bernie and Harry with the boat named "Size Matters".  Supposedly, it is the largest pontoon boat in the park.  Bernie and Sue are from Gladwin, MI.

Once we arrived out on Lake Harris we waited with the boats seen above until the rest of the boats arrived for the journey across.  All together there were seven boats for the lunch excursion.
Along the south shore we saw numerous expensive waterfront homes like this one.
We saw many fishermen like the ones above.  There is a big fishing tournament here in the spring.

After a two-hour ride across Lake Harris we arrive at the restaurant above.  Here are Harry and Karen disembarking.  The service was show but we had a good lunch.
It was almost 4 PM by the time we got back.  Here are Bernie and Sue posing with "Size Matters" after the trip.  We had to hustle so Harry could take us to the Eagles Club to have drinks and supper with another group of his friends from Holiday Resort.  Harry is quite a social director and kept us busy all day!
