Goodbye Idaho. Hello Washington and Oregon In A Rental Car

On Friday morning, 10/14/22,  we picked up our rental car at the Louiston, Idaho small airport and parked our car in the long-term parking area.  Budget Car Rental rented us a small Toyota for a one-way drive to Portland, Oregon.

As you can see by the sign above, the gasoline prices out west are not friendly at this time.

After about a five-hour drive we arrived at the Holiday Inn in Portland, Oregon where our cruise will begin on Saturday afternoon.  It is a huge Holiday Inn on the banks of the Columbia River.  Above you see the two Pickle ball courts as well as a tennis court on the hotel grounds.

From the balcony of our room you can see the pool area.  The temp outside is in the 70's so people are still using the hot tub.  We saw children in the pool, but Bill plans to see if it is okay to swim tomorrow after he returns the rental car to the Portland Airport.

This ship is docked at our hotel landing.  It is owned by the same cruise lines that we will be taking on Sunday.  However, we talked to a couple who said they will be boarding it on Saturday for a short three-day return-trip on the Columbia River.

The weather again today was warm and sunny!
