Saint John, NB (That's New Brunswick not Nebraska)

We arrived at Saint John late Sunday morning, September 22, and decided to walk into the town.

Karen sat next to this gentleman to get directions, but found him rather standoffish.

We had heard good things about the New Brunswick Museum in Saint John so we decided to give it a look.
The museum was superb and we found it full of interesting items.  Above is part of the whaling exhibit.
Here Karen is standing in the jawbone of a whale.
This is baleen that  some whales use to strain the small critters that they eat by the tons.

This Leather Back turtle was huge.

In the 1800's Saint John was the center of Canada's ship building industry, as well as a major source of lumber to Europe.

The museum's display of stuffed birds was the best we had ever seen.  These are not replicas  but actual stuffed birds.

The taxidermy here was way better than average.  This wolf was the largest that we had ever seen.

The animals looked so real that they were almost like a photo.   Above this fox is trying to protect his bird that he had caught.

We loved the New Brunswick Museum and if you ever get to Saint John be sure to spend time here.

After the museum visit we stopped at a popular pub/restaurant for a lobster roll lunch.
Notice the fish over Karen's left shoulder.

We enjoyed our stop at Saint John very much, and tonight we sail back into USA waters.
