Thursday morning we put our bikes on the back of the pickup and drove a few miles east into Yuma to a city park where a paved bicycle trail begins.
Much of the trail runs beside the Colorado River (above) which is not much of a river here. It has already been through the states of Colorado, Utah, and the Grand Canyon. It has lost much of its water volume to the many dams. Across the river is the state of California.
Here the canal on the left of the trail brings water from the river to the water treatment plant in the city of Yuma.
The red blooms in the background were very pleasing to the eye as we rode along.
When we returned to the RV park the temperature was rising so we spent some time in the pool. The temperature hit 86 degrees. We are beginning to see why there are so many "Snow Birds" here this time of year.
