We Go To the Greek Island of Corfu

About noon on Sunday to dropped anchor in Corfu, Greece, an island that is on the northwest side of Greece.
We found a good sightseeing tour company and jumped on the bus.

The tour dropped us off at the Archillion Palace, an old mansion built by the Empress Elisabeth of Austria.

Bill found the Olive tree in the courtyard to be rather interesting.

Karen liked this mural on the main staircase.

And we both loved the view overlooking the bay.  Greece has over 200  islands that are inhabited.
Corfu is said to have the most varieties of plant species.

We took this walkway bridge to get another bus back to the town of Gastouri.

We saw this old monastery on this tiny island and decided to get a closer look.

It was called the Convent of Vlacherna on Mouse Island and it was hundreds of years old.

This ancient walled fortress on the hill was drawing many tourists but we could not fit it into our  busy itinerary.

Karen made Bill pose for a photo with our ship, so here are a few facts about the Prinsendam.  She has:
9 decks, 4 guest elevators, and holds 793 passengers, with a crew of 439.  She is 673 feet long and has maximum speed of 21.5 knots per hour.

'Our showroom entertainer last evening was a violinist  named Greg Scott.  He holds the record of being the tallest professional violinist in the world.  He was super talented, and we enjoyed the show.
