One of our more interesting stops on the road was at the Hampton Inn on New Year's Eve in the town of Gallup, New Mexico. The price was reasonable and the desk clerk said the only room available was handicapped accessible if we would take it. We said okay. It turned out to be a huge suite with two queen beds. Sweet!
The hotel had only been open for four months and was ultra-modern. They still had a few bugs to work out: The ice machines on all four floors did not work due to low water pressure, but ice was available at the main desk. Also, a couple staying up on the top floor said their shower would not get very hot. All the televisions had the clearest pictures we had ever seen. We loved the place and found it a great facility to bring in 2018.
Finally, on Monday, January 1, 2018 we made it to Yuma and picked up our trailer from the storage lot. Edgewater was dusty inside and out but still in good shape. We pulled it into the Fortuna De Oro RV resort and set up camp.
