Stockholm, Sweden - and the Party is Almost Over

Friday morning, May 8, 2026, we sailed into the harbor in Stockholm on another bright cool spring morning.  The ocean is calm and boat traffic is busy.

We were passing island after island with homes and other buildings to be seen.

The island homes looked cozy and unique.  We learned that Sweden has 267,570 islands - the most of any country in the world.  And we would have thought that Canada held that distinction.
(Sorry Canada)

We passed this old, huge building with an ancient wall surrounding it. It looked like a castle or fortress from the past.

We got off our Hop-On bus downtown near the royal palace in time to see the changing of the guard detail.

In downtown Stockholm we walked around and did some shopping.

Across the bay we saw this amusement park next to the water on an island.  It is called Grona Lund and the rides were going in spite of the cool Spring weather.

This chick was standing on the corner enjoying the city and the harbor scenery.

We will not get much sleep tonight as our luggage must be outside our stateroom at 9 PM and we are required to be down on the deck 2 atrium at 2:30 AM.  We fly out of Stockholm to Amsterdam then to Detroit then to Traverse City to get home Saturday May 9.  The Detroit Pistons are playing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs and we hope to get home to see the game.
